I grew up in New Delhi, India, and trained as an engineer from the start: a bachelor’s in civil engineering, then a master’s-level Associateship in Information Science, and an advanced course on software technology at IIT Delhi. More about my education is on LinkedIn.
Today I lead the data and AI engineering work this site documents.
The woman I would marry dropped me off at the airport in New Delhi on Valentine’s Day, and I landed in the United States the same day. The dot-com bubble was about to pop. After early stints on both coasts, I settled in the Philadelphia suburbs, where I have lived and worked since, and eventually became a US citizen.
Outside work, I have been a long-time member of the UP Association of Greater Philadelphia, a community nonprofit for the Indian diaspora in this region, and I served two terms as its president. I don’t have active hobbies to list; whatever time is left goes to supporting my middle-school twins, and I volunteer and support other community organizations wherever I can.
I made this site to share what I have been learning, the same way I have learned from other people’s write-ups for 25 years. It is also for me: whatever comes next, and wherever the work takes me, the record of what I built and why is here, in my own words.
This website was itself built with Claude’s aid, the same division of labor the projects on it describe: the tool speeds up the building and the publishing, and I answer for every word.
